Introducing Big Ben, a 2005 draft cross gelding standing 16.3h. Ben has experience in trail riding, trail obstacle, ranch sorting, driving, and dressage. He also pops over solid xc-style jumps. Ben has been a mounted police horse in Florida for the last 8 years, which speaks volumes for his safety and training! He has been thoroughly desensitized and performs all the typical mounted police tasks, including pushing, dragging, jumping, crowd control, etc. He is the ideal horse for fox hunting and will start hunting in December if he is still listed then. Ben rides in a group, leads, leaves the group, has been introduced to riding with a bull whip/hunt whip, jumps, stands on the buckle when asked, ties for hours, loads in the dark, good with dogs/cows/ATV, etc. Ben is super comfortable to ride and feels like a cross between a warmblood and a La-Z-Boy. Riders with back, knee, or hip problems will love his movement. He has the perfect balance of whoa and go. Lovely barn manners with no vices. Ben loads, hauls, bathes, clips, and ties like a dream. He has been barefoot his entire life and is sound over all surfaces. Current on shots, Coggins, floating, deworming, etc. Although he has been ridden by kids and beginners, Ben is best suited for an intermediate man or lady wanting a large, highly-trained draft cross that will excel in a variety of riding disciplines.
